Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLLOYD JULIUS JONASSON It is with deep and heartfelt sorrow that the family announces that our dear brother, uncle, great uncle and friend, Lloyd, has sailed his last journey to his final port. With the love and support of his family he passed away on November 14, 2003 at the Johnson Memorial Hospital, Gimli. Lloyd was born in Winnipeg July 3, 1924 and lived his entire life in Riverton. As the eldest son, he was often close to home and developed a strong relationship with his parents. He was a commercial fisherman, who from an early age spent his working career on Lake Winnipeg. The lake to Lloyd was not only his livelihood, but also his friend. He fished at various fishing stations over the years, to name a few, Frog Bay, Georges Island, McBeth, Catfish Creek, and Black Bear. Frog Bay to his family seemed to hold the fondest memories. Everyone Lloyd touched over the years with his warm and generous heart, wonderful laughter and gentle smile will fondly remember him. Lloyd was a person who lived life to the fullest and always wanted to share that joy with those around him. He always looked forward to family gatherings. Anyone who knew him would know that his love of music and flowers he came by honestly. He had a special bond with his sisters from Riverton who were always there in time of need. Lloyd will be missed dearly by his brother Norm Jonasson and five sisters, Lorna Patterson, Oskie Vidalin, Sylvia (Harvey) Renaud, Lillian (Kristin) Thorarinson, and Shirley-Ann (Johnny) Sigurdson. He will also be remembered by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Manni (Gramman) and Daisy, infant brother Daniel, brothers-in-law Tom Patterson and John Vidalin and sister-in-law Jean Jonasson. Cremation has taken place and a private family burial will take place in the Riverton Community Cemetery. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 21 at 2:00 p.m. at the Riverton-Hnausa Lutheran Church with Pastor Trudy Sluth officiating. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations can be made to the Riverton Cemetery Fund or the Riverton-Hnausa Lutheran Church. A special thank you to Dr. S.V. Patel, nursing staff of the Johnson Memorial Hospital, and the wonderful Homecare staff. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements. "You have come down to the lake shore seeking neither the wise nor the wealthy, but only asking for me to follow. Kindly smiling, youve called my name. On the sand I have abandoned my skiff, now with you I will seek other seas." GODA NOTT ELSKU, LLOYD
