LORNA JEAN ROGAN (nee FRANKS) Lorna was born August 31, 1929, in Melville, SK, to Margaret and Lorne Franks. The first 18 years of her life were spent in Melville where she graduated and then moved to Regina to work at Speers Funeral Home. It is then Lorna met a tall handsome man, Bud Rogan. They were married August 31, 1951. The married couple then moved to Flin Flon where the north was not always a popular place to go. During the first years in Flin Flon, Lorna and Bud worked for HBM & S until 1958. Together they raised two children, Lori and Allan. Lorna assisted Bud in the operation of Rogans Funeral Home from 1958 until Buds sudden death in December of 1981. In 1987 Lorna met her soulmate Dennis Bolton, and they were married in a private ceremony, November 8, 1991. Lorna and Dennis moved to Blondies Beach in 1988 and with Norton and Suzie, her faithful companions, made a cozy home. Their home and back deck were always open to those who liked to socialize and review the affairs of the day. Lorna was a rock solid supporter of Flin Flon and Northern Manitoba and worked tirelessly to promote and develop the arts and culture North of 54. Lorna passed away peacefully Monday, November 10, 2003. Lorna is survived by her devoted and loving husband Dennis Bolton; her children, Lori and Allan; her brother Jack (Pat) Franks of Surrey, BC; her sisters, Peggy Annesley of Burnaby, BC, and Betty Ann Metcalfe of Whiterock, BC; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. At Lornas request, there will be no formal funeral service. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made in Lornas memory to the Flin Flon Arts Council (Lornas Art Fund), P.O. Box 933, Flin Flon, MB R8A 1N7. Messages of sympathy may be sent to P.O. Box 87, Flin Flon, MB. Dadson Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. 687-5821. Lornas unfailing positive attitude will stand as a shining example of how even during more difficult times, one is able to move forward and make the most of each day.
