Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJANET BURNS (JENNY) December 31, 1929 -November 13, 2003 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Janet Burns on Thursday, November 13, 2003. Janet will forever be cherished and missed. Left to mourn are daughters, Jan Vermette (Paul) and Sheila MacCoy (Pat) grandchildren, Lenny (Shar), Sheila T. (Ken), Sheena, Tiffany, Brennan and Thomas; great-grandchildren, Rachel, Jacob and Keegan. Also left to mourn are Janets brother-in-laws, Frank Burns (Maureen) and Donald Rankin; as well as cousin Albert Lindop and various nieces and nephews. Janet was predeceased by her loving husband, Daniel, of 51 years; and her parents, John and Isabella White; her sister Margaret and Margaret Langford "sister". Janet was born in Glasgow, Scotland, immigrating to Canada in 1957 with her husband Daniel till her time of death. After a 35-year career with the City of Winnipeg and a past president of CUPE Local 500, Janet retired to share in her husbands passions of travelling, spending time with family and her passion for sewing. Janet will forever be remembered within our hearts. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Janets name to the Victoria Hospital Building Fund or a charity of your choice. Memorial service will be held in the Chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, November 17 at 11:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Garry Memorial Park. Officiating Pastor Jim Poirier. All people attending are considered Honorary Pallbearers. "God saw she was getting tired and a cure was not to be, So He put His arms around her and whispered, "Come with Me." With tear-filled eyes we watched her suffer and fade away. Although we loved her deeply, we could not make her stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard-working hands put to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best." The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the doctors and nurses and the staff of 3rd floor at the Victoria Hospital.
