IRENE VICTORIA BOHAY (CHAMBERS) November 8, 1918 - November 22, 2003 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her four daughters and their husbands and her 11 grandchildren, Susan (Dave), Andrew, Steven, Heather, Melissa; Wendy (Rick), Kevin, Mark; Donna (Ken), Richelle, Vanessa, Madison: Joy (Rod), Matthew, Daniel; her four sisters, Violet, Dorothy, Edith, Hilda; and numerous nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her close friends Della and Mary. She was predeceased by her husband Nicholas in 1999; and brothers, David and George. Mom was born in Port Arthur, ON and her family eventually moved to Winnipeg. Her first job was at the Winnipeg General Hospital. During the war she worked at MacDonald Bros. Aircraft installing rivets in Anson V aircraft. After the war she was employed by the T. Eaton Co. in the mail order department. In 1957 when Mom and Dad married, they settled in Charleswood and she became a full-time homemaker. Mom had a real zest for life and was always ready to try any new adventure. She enjoyed reading, playing canasta, travelling and spending time with family and friends. She was a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion where she enjoyed playing bingo. Her sense of humour and love of life will be forever in our hearts. In accordance with Moms wish cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, November 26 at 11:00 a.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1858 Portage Ave. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorial contributions may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, Breast Cancer Centre of Hope, 675 McDermot Ave., Room 1160, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V73M7. MOTHER You can only have one Mother, Patient, kind and true. No other friend in all the world, Would be so true to you. For all her loving kindness, She asked nothing in return. If all the world deserted us, To Mother we would turn. To those who have a Mother, Treasure her with care, For you will never miss her, Till you know that shes not there.
