Date of Passing: Nov 14, 2003
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSE DOS SANTOS MACHADO Peacefully with his children at his side, Jose Dos Santos Machado passed away on November 14, 2003. Jose was born on September 17, 1932 in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal. He immigrated to Canada in 1963, residing in Winnipeg since that time. Jose was a committed and dedicated father who worked hard for his family all of his life. He loved spending countless hours throughout the spring and summer tending to his flowers and garden. He enjoyed gardening so much that he even tended to the gardens belonging to his children. Nothing brought a smile to his face quite like when he would see his grandchildren playing or when he was about to play some practical joke of some kind. He had a tremendous faith in God and lived his life in accordance with that faith. He will be sadly missed by his sons, Frank, Victor and Carlos and daughter-in-laws Tannis, Anna and Lucy. Jose also leaves to cherish his memory his brother John in Toronto; sister Louisa in Kamloops, B.C.; and sister Concecao in Boston. A tremendous loss will also be felt by his grandchildren, Tim and Joseph, Victoria, Christopher and Sarah, Lucas and Nicholas. He will also be sadly missed by the rest of his large extended family including numerous nieces, nephews and godchildren. A special thank you to Dr. Tan and Dr. Hyakawa and all of the staff at the Health Sciences Centre. Dr. Garcia, Linda and the rest of the incredible staff at the Riverview Health Centre. Your care throughout our fathers last days will be forever remembered and appreciated. You are truly incredible people. Prayers will be said on Monday November 17th at 7:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Parish, 181 Austin Street. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 18 at Immaculate Conception Parish with Rev. Fr. Joe Cabral officiating. Committal to follow at Assumption Mausoleum. Dad, you will be with us forever in our hearts, a day will not pass that we will not remember all that you did for us. We now look forward to the time that we are all together again, we love you. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation in Joses memory to the Riverview Health Centre, the Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.
