Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELIZABETH JOYCE SUMNER December 17, 1972- November 15, 2003 It is with extreme sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beloved daughter, mother, sister, aunt and friend, Elizabeth Joyce Sumner of Winnipeg, formerly of Lake St. Martin First Nation, on Saturday, November 15, 2003 at the age of 30 years. Joyce leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Laura; friend David; parents, Bertha and Albert Sumner; sisters, Laverne, Joan (Gerald) and Donna; brother Brian (Pam) nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, Pearl (Reino), Sherman (Caroline), Edward (Gail), Dennis (Colleen), Karen (Ron), Edward (Dora), Charles and Beverly; cousins and her grandmother Joyce (Frank) Grouch, whom she referred to as "Joyce Granny". Joyce had a close relationship with her nieces, Carolyn, Catherine, Kristen and Chanel; her nephews, Joseph, Mark, Jonathan, T.J., Kaleb, Thomas, Adam and Evan; her many cousins and friends. She will always be missed. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Sherman and Christine Sinclair and her uncle Dennis Sumner. Joyce had a kind and generous heart. She loved children, if anyone needed help, she was there. When she entered her nieces and nephews homes, they would yell with excitement. She was quick to make friends. She was also very creative. We believe Joyce always sensed she only had a short stay in this world. She was always heard by family members saying "I will never grow old." The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to all those who cared for Joyce. Wake service will be held on Wednesday, November 19 at the Southeast Pentecostal Church on Flora Avenue in Winnipeg, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A wake service will be held on Thursday, November 20 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 21 at 2:00 p.m. Both these services will be held at the Lake St. Martin Pentecostal Church.
