LEAH CANTOR It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, on November 16, 2003 at the age of 72. Leah will be forever loved and missed by Joe, her best friend and husband of 47 years; her daughters, Merle Rosenberg, Rhonda Ellis (Brian) sons, Edward (Heather) and Michael (Brenlee). She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Sari, Daniel, Karlee, Lexi, Ryan, and Matthew, who she loved with all her heart. Leah was predeceased by her parents, Ben and Rose Stone; sister Betty Rosenthal; and son-in-law Larry Rosenberg. Leah was born in Winnipeg on September 5, 1931. She was the third of a family of six daughters. She spent her early childhood in Winnipeg and her adolescence in Montreal. It was after meeting the love of her life, she returned to Winnipeg where she married Joe on July 22, 1956. Leah devoted herself, heart and soul to raising her four children with much love. She was a wonderful homemaker, taking pride in cooking and baking for her family. She was instrumental in instilling the values of kindness, generosity and humility to her children. It is for these reasons her family is as cohesive and close-knit as they are today. This is her legacy and it will always be remembered and followed. Her love for her family was immeasurable and can never be replaced. We love you and miss you so much. Funeral services were held at the Shaarey Zedek Synagogue on Tuesday, November 18. Pallbearers were Irving Silverman, Daniel Glesby, Brian Ellis, Jerry Sawyer, Nolan Shapera, and David Bloomfield. Honorary Pallbearers were Oscar Cantor, Lee Cantor, Mickey Rosenberg, and Frank Narr. Our family would like to thank Sylvia Bartlett for her years of devotion to our mother, and Karen Richardson for all her help. Donations in Leahs memory may be made to the Larry Rosenberg Research Fund Cancer Research, St. Boniface Hospital Research Foundation. Phone 237-2067
