MICHAEL HARRY ARTIMOWICH After a courageous battle with cancer, on Monday, November 17, 2003, in the Beausejour Health Centre, Dad peacefully fell asleep with his family by his side. He leaves to mourn his passing, his children and grandchildren, Bernice (Melvin) Jody and Cory; Gerry (Val) Misti, Bradley, Shelbi and Shandi; Stella, Kali and Kelsey; Larry (Donna) Justin and Avery; Ron (Carol) Jeremy and Logan; Brenda (Ward) Jordan and Colin. He also leaves three brothers, Fred, Joe and Peter (Amy) two sisters, Sophia and Josie and many nieces, nephews and friends. Dad was predeceased by his wife Pauline (1999) his parents, Harry and Pauline; his infant son Kenneth and his infant grandson Kellin. Dad was born August 27, 1919, in Poplar Park, MB. He moved to Nanaimo, BC in 1956 and met the love of his life. Mom and Dad were married July 27, 1957. They moved back to Manitoba in 1960 with their four young children. In 1964, 1965 and 1968 they added to their family. Their final homestead became Tyndall, MB. Dad was a carpenter by trade and belonged to Local 343 United Brotherhood of Carpenters Union for 49 years. He retired in 1984. Dad took great pride in the many projects he worked on throughout his career. Some on this list include Gillam, Kelsey, Kettle and Jenpeg Dams and Kildonan Place Mall. He retired after the completion of the Revelstoke Dam in B.C. Prayers will be said (tonight) Thursday, November 20 at 7:30 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Ave. E. Beausejour, MB. Funeral services will be held on Friday November 21 at 10:30 a.m. also at the Chapel with Rev. Fr. Owen Steeves presiding. Interment will follow in the Tyndall Cemetery. The family would like to thank everyone involved in our Dads care during his extended illness including Dr.Corder and the many dedicated nurses at the Beausejour Health Centre and his Homecare staff. Special thanks goes to Barb Merkel who became more than just Dads caregiver, but also his friend.
