PETER BYRKA November 23, 1919- November 18, 2003 Peter passed away in the Seven Oaks Hospital after a valiant struggle from a stroke. He was predeceased by his parents; brother Metro and his wife Kay; sister Mary and her husband Bill; brother Mike; beloved daughter Shirley and granddaughter Melody. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Kay; daughters, Louise (Ron) and Gail; grandchildren, Brent, Robert and Lyn Marie; great-grandchildren, Brett, Dylan and Dana; brother John and wife Mary and sister-in-law Joyce. Peter was born and grew up in Glenella and was farming. Shortly after marrying Kay, they moved to Portage la Prairie where he worked for the C.N.R. The next move was to Winnipeg where he worked at Vulcan Ironworks. They then tried their hand in their own business, working hard and being successful. Before retiring, he worked for Progressive Manufacturing. Viewing will take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 21 with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Childrens Wish Foundation, 350 St. Marys Rd., Winnipeg, MB R3C 3J2 or the charity of your choice. The family would like to thank the many kind friends, family, Dr. Wilson and staff of SOGH Unit 2 - 4th floor for their kindness and support. Special thanks to the pallbearers.
