CHARLES JOHNSON It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Charles Johnson on November 17, 2003 at Seven Oaks Hospital. Charles is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jessie; son Robert; daughter Susan Bulat (Walter) grandchildren, Greg, Kris and Stacey; his niece Gail Keen (Al) as well as his brothers, Dick (Phyl), Albert, Harry (Mary) his sister Lil; brother-in-law Art (Ida) and his sister-in-law Faye. Charles was born in Transcona on March 7, 1924. He had served overseas with the Canadian Forces for 4 years during the Second World War. Following the war, Charles joined the Bank of Commerce (CIBC) in 1947 and worked there until his retirement in 1984. Charles was an avid golfer and curler, golfing at the St. Boniface Golf Club and later at Kildonan. He curled with the mens senior league at East St. Paul Curling Club and was an active member of the Transcona Legion for many years. He will be sadly missed by all his friends. The family wish to extend their many thanks to the staff of 5th Floor Unit 4 at Seven Oaks Hospital. Cremation has taken place. A come and go reception will take place at his home on Friday, November 21, commencing at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Childrens Wish Foundation. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
