EDWARD (EDD) NICK FALK September 20, 1925- November 18, 2003 Peacefully with his wife and daughter at his side, Edd Falk passed away at Deer Lodge Centre on November 18, 2003 at 3:05 p.m. He leaves to cherish his many happy memories, his loving wife and best friend Ann of 54 years; his only daughter Maryann (Clarence) Zabolotny; one granddaughter Shannon; one grandson Shawn; one great-granddaughter (who was the apple of his eye) Shaylynne; one brother Abe (Vi) Falk; one sister Mary (John) Dell, as well as numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Edd was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, Jimmy and George; twin sisters, Tin and Ann, and brother-in-law John Harder. Edd was born in Altona, MB and lived in Horndean. He served in the army in Canada. Edd met Ann, who lived in the next town, Plum Coulee. They were married February 26, 1949. For many years he worked as a plasterer with his two brothers, Abe and George. Then he built homes for awhile. He was like a tree with many branches blowing in the wind. This took him into many different fields of work but still in construction until the hands started bothering him. Even then he got a job at Woolco in the hardware department until he retired. His body and mind were showing signs of slowly breaking down. Over the years there were times when he wasnt the man we knew, but there were days when a ray of sunshine came through the clouds and we had the old Edd back for a short time. Remember the man he was and not the man that was taken over little by little by an internal illness. The family would like to thank the loving, caring staff and doctors at Deer Lodge Centre. They made a huge impact on Edds final days on earth. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, P.O. Box 2248, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4A6 or to a charity of ones choice. Viewing will be held on Thursday, November 20 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave. (entrance on Aubrey Street). A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 21 at 1:30 p.m. at Neil Bardal Inc. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
