ALEXANDER "HARRY" ROBERTSON After a brief illness, Harry Robertson, aged 88, passed away on November 18, 2003 at the Victoria General Hospital surrounded by family members. Harry will be lovingly remembered by Phyllis, his wife of 29 years; children, Roberta (Jack) Beverley, Jack (Elaine) and David (Catherine) extended family, Sharon (John) LeLievre, Dave (Linda) Thomas; grandchildren, Nancy and Laurie Beverley, Krista (Kevin) Beange, Tim (Jen), Sheri, Jeffrey and Christy Robertson, Craig LeLievre and Jennifer and Lisa Thomas; great-grandson, Kolton Beange; brother Fred (Isobel) and many nieces and nephews. In 1972 he was predeceased by Emma, his wife of 31 years; brothers, Bill, Sydney, Victor, Jack and his sister Lillian. Harry worked for the City of Winnipeg from 1945 until his retirement in 1980. He enjoyed Curling and Bowling during his lifetime and for the latter years, his walks through the West End. Harry enjoyed all his family visits particularly with his grandchildren and great-grandson. He was a long time member of the Sons of Scotland, United Scottish Association and the Scottish Amateur Athletic Association. The family would like to thank Doctor Singer, the nurses and staff of Unit 5 South at the Victoria Hospital for their care and concern. Funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 22 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, a donation in memory of Harry may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, ON1160-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, R3E 0V9 or the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200-6 Donald St., Winnipeg, R3L 0K6 or a charity of your choice.
