JOSEPH ALFRED SYLVIO LARABIE Peacefully, on Thursday, November 20, 2003 at the Selkirk General Hospital, following a short battle with cancer, Sylvio Larabie, aged 72 years of Selkirk. Sylvio leaves surviving his beloved wife of 48 years, Victoria; his children, Dennis (Norma), Annelise (Glenn) Lupyrypa and Darlene (Ted) Herron; grandchildren, Billy, Amanda, Cameron, Melyssa, Kevin, Justin, Tiffany, Lisa and Teddy; and his sister, Jean Dac (Jean Pierre) Kenny. He was predeceased by his parents, Alexander and Alberta and his grandson, Brent. Sylvio was born on September 16, 1931 in Aylmer, Quebec and grew up in Hull. He moved to Manitoba in 1951, working at the Gimli Airforce Base. He met Victoria in 1952 and they married in 1955. Together they lived in the Ponemah area and in 1966 moved to Selkirk. After retirement they enjoyed camping and fishing for perch at Hecla Island. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, November 26 at 11:00 a.m. in the Our Lady of the Lake Church, Winnipeg Beach with Rev. Lynn Stevens officiating. A private family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sylvios name can be made to CancerCare MB., 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB. R3E 0V9.
