HUGH ALLAN MACDONALD Hugh Allan MacDonald, aged 90, peacefully in his sleep at St. Boniface Hospital on November 17, 2003. Hugh was born September 29, 1913 in Altamont MB. He worked in the mines in Bissett, Sudbury, and South Burnaby; in the CO-OP Store in Prince Rupert, and for the CNR and Great West Life in Winnipeg. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Florence Emily MacDonald (nee Marchant), whom he married October 9, 1937. They have four children, Jack (Mary) MacDonald, Robert Allan (Valerie) MacDonald, Velva Jean James, and Heather Darlene (Douglas) Drimes. They also have six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchildren. We will all miss a loving husband, and good father. Upon retirement Hugh and Florence spent 18 wonderful winters in Quartzite, Arizona with many very valued friends. The summers were spent in Woodridge, MB surrounded by more friends. They then moved to their Winnipeg apartment and made even more friends. The family thanks them all for their many kindnesses, good wishes, and expressions of sympathy; and wishes that in lieu of flowers, they make donations to a charity of their choice. Interment has taken place at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
