Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHARRY ALFRED CAMPBELL November 28, 1919- November 10, 2003 Dad was born to Alf and Evelyn Campbell on November 28, 1919 in Cereal, AB. The family moved to the Swan River Valley in 1925 and settled there. In December of 1942 he married Alma Keith and embarked on their life together. Dad was very diverse in his various careers. He was a farmer and carpenter, spending his working years travelling all over Manitoba building bridges and even working on the floodway outside of Winnipeg, MB. Harrys true love was the North. He was one of the first carpenters to work on the campsite that was to become Thompson, MB. He travelled to the Dew Line and Churchill, finally settling in Rankin Inlet, North West Territories to work for the Territorial Government in housing. Even though Mom and Dad spent time away from the Valley, they always kept a home in Swan River and returned to it regularly. In 1987 they returned to Swan River and spent their remaining years driving around the Valley checking out the horses and crops. He liked nothing better than to go for a drive and see what Fred Betchers crop looked like. The coffee shop was his favourite haunt and spent many hours hashing over all the fine points of politics, money, farming, and Valley gossip. Harry was predeceased by his wife Alma in February 1994. He is survived by his daughter Peggy-Ann (Fraser) Williams and grandchildren, Melody and Alexis. Also surviving Harry are six brothers and sisters; Maida Campbell, Margaret Potten (Birt), Robert Campbell (Isabelle), Billy Campbell (Mary), all of Swan River, MB, Betty Edwards (Colin), and Bernice Kletke (Leonard) of Winnipeg, MB, plus numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held from the St. James Anglican Church Swan River, MB on Tuesday, November 25 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Nigel Packwood officiating. Interment will follow in the Birchwood Cemetery Swan River, MB. Active pallbearers that will honour the family with their participation will be; Tyson Keith, Kirk Campbell, Scott Tibble, Russell Soura, Gordon Mullin and Mervyn Keith. Honorary Pallbearers that are treasured friends will be George Alderson, Bob Woods, Bill and Una Reich, Doug and Shelley Harris, Fred and Erna Betcher and George Genaille.
