DONALD EDWARD COCKROFT Peacefully on Thursday, November 20, 2003 at the Portage District General Hospital, Donald Edward Cockroft of the Manitoba Developmental Centre, Portage la Prairie, passed away at the age of 75 years. Funeral service will be held in the Aspen Worship Centre, M.D.C. on Wednesday, November 26 at 1:30 p.m. with Chaplain Ron Siemens officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery at a later date. Donald was a longtime resident of the Manitoba Developmental Centre, since November 17, 1948. Predeceased by his parents, Stanley and Treva, he leaves to mourn his passing his stepmother Effie of Yarmouth, NS; two brothers, George of Selkirk and Terry of Portage (M.D.C.) two sisters, Treva (Lloyd) Brooks of Courtney, BC, Shirley Cockroft of Winnipeg and a half sister Edna Short of Vancouver, BC. Family, friends and staff members of the Manitoba Developmental Centre who felt they were extended family will sadly miss him.
