Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALICE HOWARD Alice Kathleen Howard passed away on November 21, 2003 at the Middlechurch Home. Alice was born on the family homestead between Teulon and Inwood on June 13, 1908, the youngest of the nine children of Lars Magnus Nilsson (Nelson) and Ingrid Magnusson. Her husband, Norman Richardson Howard and all her brothers and sisters predeceased Alice. She is survived by her sons, Tom (Frances) and Richard (David) her granddaughters, Heather Littler (John) of Winnipeg, Kathleen Sydor (David) of Burlington, ON and Jessica Derksen (Corey) of Winnipeg; her great-granddaughter Tessa Mabel Derksen; and by many nephews and nieces and their families across Canada and the United States. Alice worked for Eatons Catalog for many years before leaving to have a family. Later she worked at the Manitoba Civil Service Superannuation Board until retirement. She was active in the Swedish community, serving on the Board at Vasa Lund and enjoying the friendship of her Strindberg Sisters. But her first love was visiting, talking to and helping her many friends and relatives. The family would like to thank the staff on West 2 at the Middlechurch Home for their kindness and care. Flowers are gratefully declined. Should friends wish, donations may be made to the Middlechurch Home, 280 Balderstone, West St. Paul. Following cremation a memorial service will be held at Thomson Funeral Chapel on Friday, November 28 at 1:00 p.m., Rev. Fraser Hunter officiating. Interment will follow at a later date.
