NELSON GEORGE BEAN 1951 - 2003 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nelson George Bean on November 23, 2003 in Gimli, MB. Nelson leaves cherished memories for his wife Beverley of 33 years; his sons, Nelson (Jennifer), Christopher (Shannon) his grandchildren, Desarae, Paige, Hunter, Jenay and Jordan; his mom (Winnie) dad (Francis) brother Irwin (Linda) along with numerous special cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends. He enjoyed a variety of pastimes in his life: trips to Mexico, Cuba, and his favourite, Jamaica. He enjoyed the game of golf with many friends, especially his two sons. He especially enjoyed long walks on the beach, winter and summer, with Bev. Nelson was born in Winnipeg on March 5, 1951. He schooled in Fort Garry. In 1969 he met Beverley (Naugler) and in 1970 they married. In 1975 they relocated to Virden, MB, with their two sons. It was there that Nelson completed his apprentice in carpentry and built them their first home. He was self employed for over 25 years. Nelson and Bev relocated to Gimli in 1999, just a walk from the beach. A service of remembrance will be held on Wednesday, November 26 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, 50-1st Gimli, MB, with Deacon Ray Sutton officiating. His family wishes to thank Dr. Chapnick and all of the nurses who cared for Nelson over the past two years. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, Room 1160 - 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli, in care of arrangements.
