Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNE FINLAYSON Anne was born in Selkirk, MB on January 1, 1912 and passed away peacefully at West Park Manor on November 21, 2003. She spent her early years in Pigeon Bluff, MB before moving to Winnipeg where she met and married Charlie Finlayson. They resided for almost 60 years in East Kildonan. Predeceased by Charlie in 1989, she moved soon after to Lions Place, and in 2000 became a resident of West Park Manor. Survived by son Mel; daughter-in-law Pat; grandchildren, Greg (Marcy), Judy (Dennis) Antony, Doug (Cindy and great-grandchild Brian), Kris (Charles and great-grandchildren, Kristal and Cash) sister Susan McLeod; sisters-in-law, Jessie Wilson and Thelma Gill, numerous nieces and nephews. Anne was employed by Burns Foods, then later enjoyed many years working at Eatons downtown. She was a longtime member of John Black United Church, and the family has appreciated the thoughtful contact that this church has kept with her over many years. In January 2002 she was reunited with her younger sister Susan, who is a volunteer at West Park Manor. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all the staff at West Park Manor for their Christian care, compassion and prayers, with special thanks and gratitude to Lindas and Rachel and all staff on 2 South. Arrangements are being handled by Thomsons Chapels. A memorial service will be held on December 8 at 11:00 a.m. at Westworth United Church, 1750 Grosvenor Ave., Winnipeg, MB with Rev. Clark Saunders officiating. Cremation has taken place with burial at Brookside Cemetery at a later date. No flowers please. If friends wish, memorial donations in her name may be made directly to West Park Manor at 3199 Grant Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3R 1X2, the place where Mom received such loving care.
