ADAM WOLSKI Adam Wolski passed away peacefully at his residence, at the Fairview Home, Brandon, on Friday, November 21, 2003, days away from his 95th birthday. Adam was born on December 1, 1908, to John and Frances (Storzuk) Wolski in the Oakburn area. He grew up in the Basswood area, farming. He married Katie Ewashko on July 15, 1934. Together they built a home at Rackham, where Adam hauled gravel. In 1946, Adam bought farm land and worked the land for grain and raised cattle. He also worked for Manitoba Hydro. He was on the local school board for many years and was a church elder for St. Anthonys Church for over 35 years. Adam is survived by his wife Katie, to whom he was married for 69 years; daughter Verna (Ralph) McDonald of Brandon; sons, Julian (Joan) Wolski of Brandon and Anthony (Loretta) Wolski of Rackham; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; also surviving are sisters, Martha Chastko, Rose Krushelnisky and Sophie Norosky; brothers, Bill (Nellie) Wolski and Tom Wolski. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 26 at St. Anthonys Roman Catholic Church, Jackfish, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Prayers will be said Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Rev. Deacon Conrad Plante will officiate. Pallbearers and crossbearer will be his seven grandchildren. A sincere thank you to Fairview Home and the caring staff whom he loved dearly and joked with daily. You gave Dad a wonderful life for the last five and one-half years.
