ORO (nee PELAYO) Peacefully on Saturday, November 22, 2003 at the Seven Oaks General Hospital, Consorcia Oro, 92 years of age, passed away with her family at her bedside. Consorcia was born on June 22, 1911 in Batan, Aklan, Philippines. She was predeceased by her husband Jose Masangya Oro on June 1, 1973 at the age of 73 years. Consorcia is survived by her children, Lourdes (Fred) Vianzon and their children, Ron and Edgar of Coquitlam, BC; Loreta (Fideleon) Castro of Winnipeg and their children, Douglas (Angelie) Castro and their children, Anthony, Ashley and Aleshia of Coquitlam; Arthur Castro of Coquitlam; Fideli (Steve) Eng and their daughter Maya Elizabeth of Coquitlam; Jose Long (Norma) Oro and their children, Jose, Jim, Jay, Sykie all of the Philippines; and Gemma (Renato) Leonor and their children, Martin, Chacha and Jessica all of Carlyle, SK; Rebecca (Arnold) Evancio and their children, Marie (Arnel) Roberto and their children, Adrian, Rafael and Minna, Jennifer (Robert) Kowalchuk, Ryan Evancio all of Regina, SK; Stephannie (Larry) Rauer of Cherry Hill, NJ, USA; Deding (Gilmore) Paguyo and their children, Glenda (Wayne) Winter and their son Daniel, Glenn Paguyo all of Regina; her brother Eulalio Pelayo; and her sister Esperanza Giray; and numerous relatives, their families and friends in the Philippines and Canada. Lamay will take place on Tuesday, November 25, between 6:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1858 Portage Ave. Novena will be said at 6:30 p.m. with prayer being said at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. Fr. Diosdado Parrenas officiating. Interment will take place in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Burnaby, BC. The family wish to express their sincere thanks to the Seven Oaks General Hospital, nurses and all the staff and doctors at the emergency department and especially Dr. Luis Chung and Dr. R. Padua, nurses and staff of the 4th and 5th floor especially unit one. Sincere thanks also to Beacon Hill Lodge nursing staff and to everyone that was involved in her care and well being.
