JOHN DEMSKI On Saturday morning, November 22, 2003, John Demski, at the age of 75 years, slipped away peacefully at home in his sleep. John left without a final word, but we all know it would have been his wish for all of us to remember the happier times in our lives, things that make us smile, and the good memories, as we go through this sad time together. Nothing would please Dad more. John was born in Ragodoshy, Poland on June 10, 1928. His family came to Canada when he was two years old. John worked hard all his life especially after he met and married the love of his life, Rose Demski (nee Elnicki), in 1950. Together Mom and Dad raised five children, Gordon (Kathy) Demski, Richard (Charlene) Demski, Janice (Russell) McCort, Brenda (Rick) Stefanko, and Daniel Demski. They also had eight grandchildren, Paul, Adam, David, Melanie, Ally, Julia, Wesley and Jacquelyn. John was predeceased by his first son, Gordon, and his first grandson, Paul, which simply broke his heart but somehow he managed to carry on. Besides his wife Rose, and their children and grandchildren, he will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by his brother, Edward Demski, and sisters, Jean Sawchuk and Victoria Stillman. John was employed for many years at Co-op Dairies and many will remember John as their milkman in Garden City. Many of his customers became his friends. Later on John was able to fulfill a dream of his and be his own boss. He bought a Taxi Cab (J & R Taxi) and always drove with a smile on his face. He loved working and providing for his family. He loved to entertain his family and friends especially in his back yard. He was so proud of his garden and flowers. No one could grow tomatoes or make pickles like Dad. He loved going for rides in his Cadillac (the "black beauty") with Mom to visit her brothers, Frank and Stanley Elnicki, on the family farm in Glenella, MB. Their drives to Lockport and through Kildonan Park always made Dad happy. Mom, over the last years of Dads life you have always been there for him, you looked after him like no one else could, you were his "Rose". A special thank you to Lou and Elsie Barrie and Joyce White for their many visits. In accordance with Dads wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. John, you can now "Rest in Peace". We love you.
