SOPHIE JACOB After a lengthy illness and surrounded by her loved ones, Sophie passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 25, 2003. A devoted Baba to her grandchildren, Sean, Jonathan, Mara, Sheldon, Sami, Hart, Tai, Aviva, Ran and Kezi and a loving mother to Ken and Lesley, Harriet and Teddy Lyons, Hersh and Ally. Sophie leaves to mourn her dear sisters, Molly Secter, Bessie Whiteman and Minnie Karlinsky as well as her sisters and brothers-in-law, Rose and Itz Jacob, Sos and Harry Plattner and many adoring nieces, nephews and life-long friends. Predeceased by her loving husband of 61 years, Sophie and Aubie are now together again. she was also by predeceased by her brother Harry Ratner and sister Doris Sachs. Pallbearers were Sean Jacob, Jonathan Jacob, Sami Lyons, Hart Jacob, Lloyd Secter and Lanny Jacob. Honorary pallbearers were Itz Jacob, Harry Plattner, Norman Secter, Adrian Challis and Bryan Magnusson. Sophies life was filled with giving and sharing for all of her 84 years. She was happiest when baking and cooking up a storm for family and friends. Her home was always filled with love, laughter and music. "A link has been broken in the chain which has bound us together, yet strong bonds of home and love hold us each to the other." The family would like to thank the Palliative Care Staff on E3 at Riverview. If desired donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Well miss you Sophie, you are forever in our hearts.
