Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDITH MARSHALL (nee JAQUES) Edith Marshall of Winnipeg, MB passed away peacefully at Calvary Place Personal Care Home on November 24, 2003 at the age of 84. She was predeceased by her husband John Cook Marshall; her parents, Mary and Clarence Jaques; her sisters, Myrtle Jasper and Marion Rankin; and her brothers, Stuart, Gordon and David Jaques. She leaves to cherish her memory her three daughters, Lois (Paul) Bowman of Fort Worth, Texas, Ellen (Tom) Paxton of Winnipeg and Margo (Doug) Phillips of Calgary; her grandchildren, Jennifer, Beth, Timothy, Katherine, Laurel and Jaclynn; her great-grandchildren, Meagan and Sarah; her sisters, Gladwyn Sturrock and Elizabeth Jacques Hendry; her brothers, Russell, Melvin and Calvin Jaques and her special friend and cousin Claire Macdonald. Edith was born on the family farm near the hamlet of Wakapa, MB on June 15, 1919. She spent her early childhood on the farm and her later school years in Killarney, MB. In 1942, while living in Regina, SK, Edith joined the RCAF and attained the rank of Sergeant. She was stationed in various locations including Gander, Newfoundland and later Rivers, MB where she met her husband John. They married in 1944 and moved to Winnipeg, where they raised their three daughters. Edith was an active member of Oxford United Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and served on various committees. She was also a member of the Manitoba Pharmacist Womens Auxiliary. Ediths home on Montrose Street, where she lived for 50 years, was her castle. She took pride in keeping it neat and tidy and had a flair for decorating. The family would like to thank the loving staff at Calvary Place for their kindness and care of Edith. A memorial service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., on Saturday, November 29 at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Michael Boulger officiating. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to make a donation may do so to the Calvary Place Personal Care Home, 1325 Erin St., Winnipeg, MB R3E 3R6 or to the Alzheimer Society.
