He returned to Winnipeg with his family in 1974. After school, John started working at Metro Drugs and then got on at CNRail and then on to VIA Rail celebrating 24 years this year. He loved his work and made lasting friendships with many of his co-workers and had wonderful memories and nicknames from his time on the job. Johns favourite times were spent at Grand Beach at the family cabin, puttering around, walking, sitting on the beach people watching and partying with his buddies. His family was very important to John and he enjoyed the many family gatherings and adventures. His pride and joy and the love of his life was his daughter Carley, always keeping only a phone call away. John was so happy to be able to spend time with Carley, watching her grow into a beautiful young lady, and being involved in her life and many activities, her basketball, soccer, school and social life. Johns generous spirit, sense of humour, warm smile, ceaseless patience and his willingness to help others will always be cherished and missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
