DARREN GREGORY BJORKLUND January 31, 1974 - November 26, 2003 Darren Gregory Bjorklud was born on January 31, 1974. His 30th birthday was less than two months away. He was looking forward to celebrating it with a big party inviting all his family and friends, filling the house with laughter and cheers. But on Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at around 1:30 in the morning, surrounded by his family and friends in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at the St. Boniface Hospital, Darrens heart stopped beating. He will be 29 forever and instead of laughter and cheer being spread throughout our house there will be nothing but sadness and tears. His mother Edith, who passed away on March 10, 2003 predeceases Darren. He will be greatly missed by his Dad Cliff; brother Dale; sister Leeanne and her family of Austin and Shaun. Darren will also be missed by his grandparents Lloyd and Edith Bjornson of Winnipeg. He will also be greatly missed by his close friend Nicole Grossman. Darrens family was big and stretched across the country. His Uncle Bill, Aunt Lorna and Uncle Tom Siddle of Winnipeg, Uncle Melvin and Aunt Joyce Bjorklund of Keewatin, ON, Uncle Ivan and Aunt Grace Bjorklund of Ignace, ON, Uncle Lorne and Aunt Esther Zenert of Chilliwack, BC. They all will miss him. He also loved his cousins Kevin, Debbie, Jo-Anne, Bonnie, Shaun, Peter, Tim, Zoe, Naomi, Sheri, Laureen, Wendy, Allen, Diane and Linda. As well as Barry, Rita, Louise, Christine, Dawn, Bill, Deborah, Carman and Kristen. Darren is also leaving behind his friends that he grew up with in Grand Rapids, Lorette and his friends he went to school with at Red River. He also leaves behind a great number of friends he worked with at Club Regent and Great West Life. Memorial services for Darren will be held at Glen Lawn Funeral Home at 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg, on Monday, December 1, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. The family would like to thank the staff of the St. Boniface Hospital and especially the staff of the Medical Intensive Care Unit. In lieu of flowers a donation can be sent to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Darren loved to play cards and spent time with his mom.
