DORIS NOKES With great sadness, we announce the passing of Doris Nokes on Tuesday, November 25 at 11:00 p.m. with family close at her side. She was predeceased by her brother Barry Haugan. She is survived by her loving husband Robert Nokes; mother Vicky Haugan; children Lori and Rob; grandchildren, Victoria and June; brothers, Orille and Morris; and sister Evelyn. She was a proud and devoted wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and teacher. Many friends and family have been touched by her wonderful laugh, creativity, generosity and desire to help others. There is no title to describe the love and positive influence she had in her many years in working with children. This world has become a better place because of her. She will live on in the hearts and minds of children, family and friends. May the Peace and Love she has given be returned to her. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 29 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A reception will follow. In honour of her devotion to children, donations can be made to the Society for Manitobans with Disabilities, 825 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1M5, to support children with special needs.
