KATHERINE ANDREYCHUK YARMIE (nee BOYCHUK) Katherine Andreychuk Yarmie recently of Oakview Place, Winnipeg, passed away suddenly, unexpectedly, but peacefully, on November 25, 2003, at the age of 92 years. Mother was born in Valley River, MB on July 25, 1911. She met and married John Yarmie in Detroit, MI in 1929 and together they raised two children, Victoria and Eugene. My father passed away in 1967. In 1973, Mother married Walter Andreychuk who predeceased her in 1998. Mother was the youngest daughter and the last survivor of Anna and Alex Boychuk. She was predeceased by her brothers, Metro, John, Mike, Tony and William; by her sisters, Mary, Lena, Helen and Nellie; by her only daughter Vicky Ryback in 1999; and by her stepson Eddie Andreychuk in 2001. Katherine is survived by her son Eugene (Val) by her grandchildren, Bill, Nicci, Rebecca and Jonathan; by her great-grandchildren, Stefan and Sharayah; by her stepchildren, Mary (Frank), Doreen (Bill), Frank (Tina), (Ida) by all their children and grandchildren and by many nieces and nephews. Without a doubt, Mother was one of the worlds best cooks and the many of us who dined at her table over the decades will agree. She will be remembered for her hospitality, for her generosity and for her great love towards her children. I wasnt prepared for her sudden departure but we believe that Mother is at rest and peace and in the arms of The One she proclaimed. We will celebrate her life on Friday, November 28 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. The funeral service will be held on Saturday morning, November 29 at 8:30 a.m. also at the chapel.
