JEAN MILLY ANDRECHUK 1921 - 2003 It is with sadness we announce the passing of Jean Milly Andrechuk (nee Hondz), on Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at Victoria General Hospital, after enduring a sudden heart attack days before. She is mourned by her husband Alexander; son Donald; daughter-in-law Terri; grandson Kevin; granddaughter Tara and husband Neil Penner; along with great-grandchildren, Nikolaus (3) and Joseph (1). Jean leaves to mourn her sister Kathy (Dave) Savage of Victoria BC; brother Victor (Jean) Hondz of Winnipeg; sister Bernice (John) Azaransky of Kelowna, BC; and sisters-in-law, Bernice Mudry, Jean Boychuk, and Stella Andrechuk of Winnipeg. Countless other family members and friends feel the loss of Jean in their lives. Jean Milly was born on January 5, 1921 in Arnes, MB to Michael and Anne (nee Kansky) Hondz. Jean loved the city life and moved to Winnipeg, where she met her future husband Alexander, of the R.M. of St. Norbert. They were married on May 20, 1944 and would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary next year. When married, Jean and Alex settled down on their farm land in St. Norbert and made a good life for themselves and their family; finally moving to a condo in Richmond West (Winnipeg) in 1994. Jean worked very hard on the farm and was known for her hospitality and generous spirit. Jean also worked for Eatons mail order and then Victoria Hospital in the dietary department for 16 years. She fondly remembered the hospital staff during her working days and made many friends and memories. Jean worked hard until her final days, patiently caring for her husband and making sure the family had enough cabbage rolls and perogies for Christmas. Jean (Baba)s pride and joy was her two great-grandsons Nikolaus and Joseph. Baba loved those boys and would give them the world! Jean is best remembered for giving selflessly to family and her warm friendship. Jean now rests in Eternity along with her predeceased infant son Robert; brother Edward; sisters, Mary Firman, Marge Legault, Stella Firman; and parents. Special thanks to the fire and paramedic crew, caring staff of the ICU and Chaplain Rev. Long at Victoria General Hospital. Funeral services to be held on Monday, December 1 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity United Church, 933 Summerside Ave., Rev. Milly Malavsky officiating. Interment following at Andrechuk Cemetery on Red River Drive. GARRY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, CEMETERY & CREMATION CENTRE 1291 McGillivray Blvd. - 925-1120
