Molly was born on July 23, 1912 in Shoal Lake, MB. She was the daughter of John Robertson Stalker of Scotland and Ellen Douglas Jenkins of Shoal Lake. She taught for over 20 years at Tuxedo Park School and Laidlaw Junior High School. Teaching was one of her many passions. It was more than a job to her; it was a calling. She loved all her students, particularly those who shared her enthusiasm for learning. Education was a lifelong pursuit for her. Throughout her teaching career she took university courses and after her retirement in 1976 she returned to the University of Manitoba and completed a Bachelor of Arts degree at the age of 65. It was at her first teaching job in Isabella that she met her husband Ted. They married on November 23, 1940. The following day Ted went overseas with the RCAF and did not return until March, 1945. During the war years Molly worked for the Department of Agriculture in Ottawa. While in Ottawa she spent many hours watching the debates in Parliament and, like her father, she became a lifelong Liberal. Travel was another passion for Molly. She travelled extensively with her family throughout Europe, the Orient and Caribbean. In her retirement years she and her husband Ted enjoyed winter golf trips for 21 years with the Dale Esopenko Assiniboine Golf Club Group.
