Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKENNETH ADELBERT SHORTEN (RED) Ken passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2003 at the St. Boniface Hospital. He was born in Winnipeg, May 11, 1933 at the Grace Hospital. Ken was raised in the McCreary district, MB (Neepawa). Ken came to Winnipeg and worked at Eatons for 24 years. After completing his BA and BSW, Ken was employed by the department of the Solicitor General at Edmonton Max Prison then transferred to Stony Mountain Prison. Ken was very involved in country music with his band in the 1950s and 1960s, also politics in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. He was a member of the N.D.P. He was predeceased by his parents, Winnifred and Jim Shorten and granddaughter Samantha. Ken leaves behind to remember him, his wife Berdina; children, Ted (Monique) and Pamela (Melbourne) grandchildren, Jordan, Matthew, Tessa, Ashley, Summer, Jacob and Aaron. Ken is survived by Norma, Merna (Dennis), Barb (Doug), Homer (Wilma), Elmer (Ruth), Edith and best buddies, Tom Ewaschuk and Don Pilbeam. Good night Lord Cumberland
