Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryESTHER ARBOR (nee HANKIN) Peacefully on November 29, 2003, Esther Arbor passed away at the Sharon Home at the age of 93. Mrs. Arbor was predeceased by her parents, Israel and Nehama Hankin; her husband Jack (Jacob) Arbor; brothers, Sam, Joe and Meyer Hankin; and sister Rae Shklov. Mrs. Arbor will be sadly missed by her daughter Elaine (Jack) Rosenberg; granddaughter Lisa Rosenberg; grandson David (Jennie) Rosenberg; and new grandson Liam Joseph. Esther immigrated to Canada with her parents and siblings in 1912 from Krasnopol, Moghilev, Russia, to Canada. She obtained her teachers training at Normal School and taught school in Lake Francis. Esther continued teaching school in Winnipeg at the Peretz Jewish School. She taught at a number of schools, and in latter years, was librarian in the Seven Oaks School Division. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Manitoba. Esther will be fondly remembered for her love of family, engaging personality, charming sense of humour and story-telling. Special thanks to Dr. Cheung, the staff at the Sharon Home and Seven Oaks Hospital for their compassionate care. There will be a graveside service at the Rosh Pina Cemetery on Monday, December 1 at 2:00 p.m. Friends who wish to do so, may make a donation in her memory to the charity of their choice.
