RICHARD (DICK) HONORE DESJARDINS On Sunday, November 30, 2003 at the age of 59 years, Richard passed away amongst his family at his residence. He is survived by his wife Vivian; daughters Tracee (Derek) Reimer and Heidi (Stewart) Vogt; grandchildren, Cassidee Reimer and Tanner and Breadon Vogt. Dick was a member of the Selkirk detachment and a policeman of 20 years with the RCMP. He was involved in many community services such as Knights of Columbus, Selkirk Game and Fish club, Ducks Unlimited and a firearms instructor in the Manitoba Junior Rifles. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and foster parent and friend to many. He also very much enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with family and friends. A Service of Remembrance will be held at the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church, 269 Jemima St., Selkirk on Thursday, December 4 at 10:30 a.m. Cremation to follow and a private family interment of ashes to take place at a later date. The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at the Palliative Care Unit in Selkirk, Cancer Clinic at the Health Sciences Centre and the Homecare nursing staff. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Research in care of CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9.
