Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE ANDRE DEMERS September 21, 1919 -November 29, 2003 Peacefully, on Saturday, November 29, 2003 at the Victoria Hospital, George Andre Demers passed away at the age of 84 years. He leaves to grieve, his beloved wife Lucille (Baril) four children, Gilbert (Edith), Yolande (Garry), Leo (Bernice), and Gerald (Manon) grandchildren, Guy (Noriko), Louis (Susan), Suzanne (Brad), Evan (Sonia), Owen, Nolan, Lionel, Bridgette (Norman), Carmelle (Gabriel), Marcella, Christopher, Nicholus, Francois and Jessica; as well as great-grandchildren, Carli, Kayla, and Erika; also sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. George was predeceased by his parents; six brothers, Henri, Ernest, Edmond, Hector, Alire, and William; and one sister Olive. George and Lucille moved from St. Elizabeth in 1946 and settled and lived in Haywood, MB, until 2001. George was involved in the community, a long standing member of the Knights of Columbus, the Royal Canadian Legion and a life member of A.A. As a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he will be fondly remembered for his constant positive attitude to life and his golden rule, "One day at a time". Prayers will be held on Tuesday, December 2, at 7:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. No. 1 E. at Navin Road. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 3, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Denis Catholic Church, Haywood, MB. Prayers will commence on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Haywood Cemetery. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses, and home care who took great care of George.
