LESLIE RAYMOND HALLDORSSON Peacefully on Sunday, November 30, 2003 at the Health Science Center surrounded by his loving family, Les Halldorsson passed away. He was born February 24, 1945 to Johannes and Judfinna Halldorsson. He was predeceased by his father Johannes; infant brother Jon; and step-father David Reed. He will be sadly missed by his daughter Debbie Berens (Ron) of Selkirk, MB; son Joey Halldorsson (Jaymie) of Selkirk, MB; precious grandchildren, Avery, Ashley, Lindsay, and Corey; beloved mother Finna Reed of Winnipeg, MB; brother Brian Halldorsson (Ruth) sister Louise Halldorsson (Darryl) numerous special nieces, nephews, family and friends. Les was born in Selkirk, MB and spent his childhood on the family farm in Vidir, MB. Always searching for adventure, Les joined the navy at age 17. He had many and varied work experiences throughout his life. Les attracted many friends with his sense of humour. He loved to share his philosophical views and appreciated good conversation and the AA fellowship. He enjoyed playing cards, the outdoors and spending time with his family. Les held a special place in his mothers heart and his visits will be missed. The family would like to thank Dr. Lee, Dr. Haseeb and staff on the Addiction Unit, HSC for their excellent care. Especially Angela, Corrie and Marianne who looked after Les in his final days. A very special thank you to Dr. Lindy Lee whose extra effort went beyond measure during this difficult time. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, December 5 at 1:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, 309 Eveline St., Selkirk, MB with Pastor Stan Richards officiating. Cremation has taken place and an interment of ashes will take place at a later date in the Vidir Cemetery. Do not cry for me my loved ones, My pain has gone my heart is free I will still hear your laughter, And walk with you in your hard times. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
