Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDWARD TOMCHAK August 18, 1928 - November 29, 2003 Edward passed away on November 29, 2003. He was predeceased by his parents Catherine and Walter Tomchak; sister Alice Zeiler; wife Antonine and son Edward Rodney. His memory will be cherished by his wife Florence; daughter Gloria; stepdaughter Carole Dmytryk (Terry) granddaughter Jessica and the family cat Misty; grandson Derrick; brother Frank (Esther), Auntie Jean Collier and other relatives. Edward was born in Gimli, MB and was a lifeguard as a young man. Edward loved to play the violin, harmonica, sing and dance. He was an avid outdoorsman and was a talented artist doing scrimshaw, making canes, clocks and etchings. Edwards greatest passion was gardening and cooking with his family and friends picking mushrooms with his children and beloved Sheeba. Edward was employed by CNR and then Via Rail from 1949 to 1993 as a locomotive engineer. He will be loved and remembered by all those who he graced with his kindness. The family is grateful for the care Dad received from St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held at a later date. A celebration of Edwards life will be held on Saturday, December 6 at 2:00 p.m. in the Edward J. Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald St. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: EDWARD J.
