GILLIAN LESLEY WREN It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Gillian Wren on Sunday, November 30, 2003, at St. Boniface Hospital, at the tender age of 26 years. Left to cherish her memory is her partner Mike McPherson; sons, Christian, Nicholas and Brayden; mother Thelma Faraci (Ed) father Alan (Betty-Anne Sanderson) brother Ian; grandmother Margaret Keller; and many relatives and close family friends. Gillian was predeceased by "Papa", Christian Keller; and grandparents, Ronald and Ruby Wren in England. Gillian was born and raised in Winnipeg and attended schools in Winnipeg and Oakbank. Gillian was always very active with particular interests in gymnastics and swimming. During her several months of illness, Gillian, at a young age, provided us all with examples of courage, optimism and strength. The family would like to thank the staff of ward 5B and the Palliative Care Unit of the St. Boniface Hospital for their care and compassion. In accordance with Gillians wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Friday, December 5 at 6:30 p.m. at Thomson Funeral Chapel, 669 Broadway, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Gillians memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. "We cant know why some things happen...but we can know that love and beautiful memories outlast the pain of grief. And we can know that theres a place in the heart where love lives always...and where nothing beautiful can ever be forgotten." THOMSON Funeral Chapels - 669 Broadway - 783-7211

  • When I was a kid my mom Gillian would always make me laugh. Even though I barely knew her I loved her so much I just wish I could see her smile again. I miss her so much. I wish I saw her before she passed away. I miss her hugs. - Posted by: Nicholas Normandin (Son) on: Jul 08, 2014
