MARGARET ISABEL AITKENS APPLEBY (nee SPITTAL) Margaret was born June 12, 1915 in Camper, MB and died December 1, 2003 at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg. She married Edward Aitkens and he predeceased her on December 11, 1972. She got married to Peter Appleby and he predeceased her on December 21, 1999. She was also predeceased by her parents, James and Grace; brother Cliff and son-in-law Jim Braun. She worked for 35 years at Eatons and then later at Independent Jewellers. She loved ballroom dancing, working in the garden and dining out. She was an avid hockey and football fan. She was a member for over 20 years at the Army, Navy and Air Force Club 283 and the Over 55 Club. She is survived by her son James (Judy Wells) daughter Bev Braun, grandchildren, Cheryl Duffy (Gerald) Debbie Hewett (Todd) Jim Braun (Sheena) and Terry Braun (Tara) her great-grandchildren, Alison, Meghan and Danicia Duffy; Kristian and Andrew Hewett; Christopher and Michelle Braun; Patrick, Cory, Jena and Jazmyn Braun; sister-in-law Martha Spittal from Stonewall; nephew Wayne Spittal (Jan and family) and Val Edwards (Darryl and family). Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 6 at 1:00 p.m. at the St. James United Church, 234 Parkview St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Margarets memory to The Canadian Diabetes Association, 102-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6.
