ROBERT LISLE MASTERMAN The family of Bob Masterman, of Gimli, formerly of Winnipeg, is saddened by his accidental death in Gimli on Friday, November 28, 2003 at the age of 82. Bob leaves his loving wife Margaret; his children, Susan of Medicine Hat, AB, Bruce (Karen) and their daughters, Chelsea and Sarah of High River, AB, Barbara (David Moore) of Winnipeg, Richard (Sally - Danny) of St. Anne, MB. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Ralph and Jean Masterman; his first wife Marybelle; and by his sister Adrienne. Bob was born in Winnipeg on February 8, 1921 and attended school at Queenston, Robert H. Smith and Kelvin High. During the Second World War, he served six years in the Canadian Army in England, Sicily, Italy and Northwest Europe. Bobs working life was spent in sales and management in Winnipeg, Calgary, Vancouver, Toronto and Windsor, ON, retiring in 1979 as a real estate broker. Following retirement, he worked for some years in crop insurance and income tax in Elma and Beausejour. His most enjoyable times were those spent with Margaret, family, good friends and neighbours, particularly at Malachi, ON and Spruce Sands, MN. Bob became a Mason in 1956 and thoroughly enjoyed the company of his many Lodge friends. His association with the Charleswood Legion Branch No. 100 was also enjoyed. The family is extremely grateful to the Gimli Fire Department, RCMP and Gimli Ambulance Service for their assistance at the accident scene, and to the Emergency Department personnel at Gimli Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 6, at the Gimli New Horizons Seniors Centre, 3rd Avenue at 5th Street North, Gimli. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, friends are urged to make donations to a charity of their choice. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
