RICHARD (DICK) HEWITT May 1, 1925 - December 1, 2003 On December 1, 2003, after a battle with cancer, Richard passed away peacefully in the Palliative Care Unit of Grace Hospital. He was predeceased by his wife Veronica Clare in 1983. Richard will forever be lovingly remembered by his son Kevin, his wife Deborah and their two children, Kristin and Paul; daughter Denise (Krumbach), her husband John and their daughter Jennifer; son Ian; daughter Karen and the many brothers, sisters and friends left to mourn. Richard was born in Glasgow, Scotland and immigrated to Canada with his wife in 1956. He served with the R.A.F. during the Second World War as a pilot and remained in the Air Force for 30 years. During his civilian life he worked as an engineer until he retired. He was a lifetime member of the A.N.A.F. #283. Richard loved the outdoors, golf, fishing and taking long walks with his dog, Margo. Most of all, he cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren. Sincere thanks to the Palliative Care Unit of the Grace Hospital for their kindness and care. Richard will be sadly missed by his family and friends. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service.
