GEORGE STEFANEC May 6, 1924 - December 1, 2003 Suddenly, at Seven Oaks Hospital, George Stefanec passed away. George will be sadly missed by his wife of 55 years, Frances; sons, Lorne and wife Claudia, Dennis and Glenn (Julie) daughter-in-law Laurie; grandchildren, Sharlene and (Paul) Nielsen, Larry (Jennifer), Erin (Pat) and Gregory and Lindsay; great-grandchildren, Gavin and Erik Nielsen and his brother Dan (Pauline) Stefanec. He was predeceased by his brother Fred and sister Lena. George worked for the C.N.R. and then Via Rail retiring with 45 years of service as a Sleeping and Dining Car Conductor. The highlight of his career was being one of the few chosen to serve the Queen and Prince Philip on their Royal Tour of Canada. Keeping with Dads wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held.
