OLGA WIWCHAR (nee SENIUK) Peacefully on December 2, 2003 in the presence of the Lord, Olga passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Mom was born in Winnipeg on November 22, 1926. She received her education in Winnipeg and was employed with Winnipeg Paint and Glass. In 1948 she married John and together they raised their family in Winnipeg. Her hobbies were knitting, crocheting and providing delicious baking. She was a member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church and she enjoyed attending various church functions. She was devoted to her children - her family was the focus of her life and she took great delight and pride in all their accomplishments. Olga will be lovingly remembered by her children, Robert (Donna), Michael (Elizabeth) and David, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Very Rev. Bishop Michael Wiwchar, C.Ss.R. and Nick Winchar (Mary), nephews, great-nephews, cousins and close friends. She was predeceased by her parents and husband John. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, December 8 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 737 Bannerman Ave., with Very Rev. Bishop Michael Wiwchar C.Ss.R. and a Basilian Father officiating, assisted by Rev. Protodeacon Michael Woroby. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Divine Liturgy offerings for the repose of her soul or donations to the Maintenance Fund, in care of St. Nicholas Church, would be greatly appreciated. The family would like to express sincere gratitude and appreciation to Dr. C. Dyck, Dr. Anderson and to the doctors and staff at Seven Oaks Hospital, especially the nursing staff on Level 4 and Palliative Care nursing staff on Level 5 - Units 1 and 3. Our heartfelt thanks to all who offered prayers and support, especially to the Basilian Fathers for their visits, prayers and administering the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick. In tears we saw you sinking, We watched you fade away, You suffered most in silence, You fought so hard to stay, You faced your task with courage, Your spirit did not bend, But still you kept on fighting, Until the very end.
