WALTER HAROLD DuGUAY Walter Harold DuGuay passed away peacefully on November 24, 2003 at Peace Arch Hospital, White Rock, BC. Born August 6, 1921 in Campbellton, NB. Walter is survived by Vera, his loving wife of 62 years; his children, Linda (Fivie), Brenda, Patricia (Brent), David (Jennifer), Norm (Pauline) and his sister Jackie Posner of Winnipeg. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Jeff, Marissa, Danny, Jodi, Cheryl, Randi, Michelle, Jonathan, Elizabeth, Nicole, and Kris; and eight great-grandchildren, as well as many friends and relatives throughout Canada and the United States. Walter grew up in Winnipeg where he met Vera, the love of his life at 16 years of age. Walter proudly served his country overseas in the Second World War in the Army Dental Corps achieving the rank of Sergeant. Upon his return, his occupations were that of Dental Technician, Denturist, and Instructor (NAIT and Vancouver Community College). Official retirement came in 1986, but Walter continued to work into his 81st year. He loved life and was an avid walker, gardener, and enjoyed thoroughbred horseracing and good conversation. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather who was always full of love and laughter. Walter and Vera spent their summers in Winnipeg visiting family and friends where he enjoyed his visits to Assiniboia Downs and doing numerous work projects around his childrens homes. A special thanks to Dr. Antonio Benitez and the nurses and staff of the Palliative Care Unit of the Peace Arch Hospital - your kindness, compassion, and care were beyond our greatest expectations. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, or the charity of your choice. "Remembering you is easy, We do it every day, Missing you is the hardest part, It never goes away. In our hearts and in our minds, We will keep you forever." Love you Dad
