AURELE WILFRID LACROIX February 16, 1928 - December 5, 2003 Peacefully, surrounded by his family, Aurele Wilfrid Lacroix passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at the Grace Hospital on December 5, 2003. Aurele was born in Baie St. Paul, MB on February 16, 1928. Aurele resided in St. Eustache, Pigeon Lake and Winnipeg where he received his education. Aurele attended Pigeon Lake School and Hugh J. Macdonald School in Winnipeg. Aurele is predeceased by his first wife Alice Desaulniers, the mother of his four sons. His parents, Rose (Laramee) and Conrad Lacroix; his stepfather William St. Germain. Aurele is survived by his beloved wife Claire; sons, Danny (Susan), Andre (Darcy), Ronald, Ray (Tannis) grandchildren, Lisa, Yvonne, Robert Lacroix, Stefan and Bryson Lacroix, Aaron, Kegan, Jesse Lacroix; extended family members, Matthew, Jessica, Cory, Brenda; great-grandson Trevor Mason. Four sisters, Estelle (Eric) Piper, Clarice Nott, Wilma Biggar (Jerry) and Carol Moxley (Gordon). Dad spent his working life in the automotive business. Through his career his three principle employers were Automobile Supply CO., J.A. Keddy LTD. and Kleen-Flo. First as a salesman, moving to management, then the last 30 plus years as a manufactures representative. He made friends with many people throughout his career and was known for his quick smile and wit. He semi-retired two years ago but continued to work part-time as a representative and later with a good friend helping run his business. A funeral mass will be held Monday, December 8 at 1:00 p.m. at Blessed John the XXIII, 3390 Portage Ave. with Msgr. M. Comeault and Rev. Fr. Terance P. McGrath officiating. A reception celebrating Aureles life will be held immediately after the service at the Army and Navy, 3584 Portage Ave. Flowers are greatly declined. Donations can be made to the CancerCare Manitoba at 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or St. Charles Catholic Parish at 320 St. Charles Assiniboia Building Fund.
