WILLIAM (BILL) ANDRUSZKOW Bill Andruszkow passed away peacefully with his loving wife Violet by his side Friday afternoon, December 5, 2003 at St. Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg, MB. Bill was born March 21, 1921 in Mitineve, Poland. In 1936 as a teenager Bill and his family immigrated to Canada and established a farm in Rosendale, MB that he farmed for many decades with success. Bill was destined for great changes in the 1970s as he sold the farm and made his way to Portage la Prairie where he discovered his soulmate and future wife Violet. After many years in Portage, Bill and Vi moved to Winnipeg to enjoy their golden years and be closer to family. Bill particularly loved his great-granddaughters, Nicole and Courtney and the feelings are mutual. Although Bill was mature in years he was young at heart and delighted in teasing the girls good-naturedly, and in return being entertained by them. Bill made friends easily with his quick smile and engaging humour. Many people in the apartment block he lived in, the stores he shopped at, and the cabbies that drove him, knew within a second that here was a man with integrity, honesty and generosity to a fault. The world is poorer without him. Bill was predeceased by his mother Alexandria, father Andrew, brother Mikita, and sister Katherine. Bill will be loved and remembered by his brother Walter (Bernice) Andruszkow and children, his sister Olga (John) Barchuk and children, many grandchildren, great-grand-children, family and friends, and mostly he will always be cherished by his wife Violet. As per Bills request, there will be no funeral service. VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME 220 Hespeler 668-3151
