Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryED McIVOR Edgar James McIvor born on January 22, 1913 on the homestead in Woodrow, SK, died on December 4, 2003 from complications of hip surgery the same day. Ed is survived by Gladys, his wife of 66 years; three sons, Jim (Helen) of Thompson, Richard of Winnipeg, Brent (Marilyn) of Whistler, BC; three brothers, Mervyn, Angus (Alice) of LaFleche, SK and Gordon of Mankota, SK. He was predeceased by an older brother Elwood (Florence) of Transcona and sisters, Evelyn and Marion; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A talented left-handed pitcher, Ed played in Transcona, Bellville, ON and Sudbury, ON. He never lost his passion for the game. A 35 year employee of INCO, he started as a miner in Sudbury in 1936 and retired as a Superintendent of Thompsons T1 mine in 1991. Moving to Thompson in 1959 He was proud to be involved as one of the first to be involved in the development of the Thompson Mine. Funeral service 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 9 at Transcona Memorial United Church, 209 Yale Ave. W. with Rev. Carol Fletcher officiating.
