EVELYN DOREEN CHUNN (RENTZ) Passed away peacefully, Thursday, November 20, 2003 at Lions Gate Hospital, North Vancouver. She was born on August 22, 1928 in Beausejour, MB. Doreen spent her first 37 years in East Kildonan and other suburbs of Winnipeg. She married Herbert (Bert) in 1950 at Grey Street United Church. In 1964 Doreen and family began a new chapter in their lives by moving to Vancouver. Doreen enjoyed young children and became a foster mother, sharing much love as she provided an emergency home for babies. She provided a caring home for Charlotte and Jimmy who stayed with the family for five years. Doreen is survived by her loving husband Bert, and three children, Donald, Debbie (Thane) and Brenda (Andrew), and three grandchildren, Tina Poole, and Russell and Blair Milne. She is also survived by three sisters, Eleanor (Bruce), Joan (Roy), Shirley (Leo) one brother Elmer (Virginia) two sisters-in-law, Louise Rentz and Pat Rentz and many nieces and nephews and cousins. Doreen was predeceased by her parents, Hilda and Philip and two brothers, Ken and Bill. A memorial service will be held on December 14 at 3:00 p.m. at Grey Street United Church, 651 Sandhurst Ave., Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to a charity of your choice.
