Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALMA MARGARETA PRATT Alma Margareta Pratt of Red River Place, Selkirk, MB, passed away at the Selkirk General Hospital on December 6, 2003, at the age of 94 years. Alma was born on June 10, 1909 on the family farm north of Langenburg, SK. She was the fifth child born to Heinrich and Maria Mitschke (nee Waltz). She attended Hohenlohe School. During the summers of 1933 to 34 she helped on her brother Bills farm near Norquay, SK. It was during this time that she met her future husband, Val Pratt, whom she married in Langenburg on January 23, 1935. The couple lived on the farm at Danbury, SK until 1947 when they moved to a small farm at St. Andrews, MB. In 1970, the couple retired and moved to Selkirk. Following the death of her husband Val on April 15, 1977, Alma moved to the Knights Centre in Selkirk in 1986 where she remained until moving to Red River Place in September of 2002. Alma was predeceased by her brothers, William (1969), Joseph (1973), Henry (1990), stepbrother Leo (1992) and sisters, Mary (1983), Bertha (2001). She leaves to mourn her passing one son Milton (Lorna) of Moncton, NB; stepbrother Robert Zerr (Jeannette) and stepsister Adelaide Adams (George), both of Langenburg; four grandchildren, Karen (Randy) of Miramichi, NB, Heather (Derek) of Moncton, NB, Kevin (Nancy) of Amherst, NS, and Tracy (Ivan) of Moncton; and 12 great-grandchildren, Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 10 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, 309 Eveline St., Selkirk, with Fr. Boguslaw Wardzinski officiating. Interment to follow in the Notre Dame Cemetery. A reception after the funeral will be held at the Knights Centre, 312 Sophia St., Selkirk. Memorial gifts may be made to a charity of your choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
