Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANDREW (ANDY) JOSEPH ZASTRE January 14, 1940 - December 6, 2003 It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Andy on December 6, 2003 after a lengthy illness. Andy was 63 years old at the time of his passing and made his home in Eriksdale, MB. Andy was born in St. Rose, MB and raised in Cayer. In 1967 he moved to Eriksdale, where he raised his family. Andy worked on construction, fished commercially, and farmed. He is survived by his loving wife Fern of 41 years; his daughter Aloma of Hamilton ON; one son Shawn (Shawna) of Edmonton; sisters, Doris of St. Rose, Elsie (Bill) of St. Rose; brothers, Ernie of Winnipeg, Russel of Cayer; sisters-in-law, Velma Stuart of Carman, Annette Phillip of Winnipeg; brothers-in-law, Charles Freeman (Myrtle) of Eriksdale, and Asi Freeman (Eleanor) of The Narrows; also many nieces, nephews and friends. Andy had special thoughts for his special friend Melissa Kirby and his godchildren Ernie, Joanne Bauch, Darcy Freeman and Candi Zastre. Also Kirk, Clark and Paige Lindell of Eriksdale, Brett and Ashley Stasiuk, and Aaron Janssen of St. Rose we thought of as grandchildren. Andy was predeceased by his parents, Israel on September 4, 1994 and Doralice on July 18, 1985; his sisters, Lorraine, January 24, 1999, Eva, March 10, 2003; by his in-laws, Alex Freeman, October 13, 1973, and Elizabeth Freeman, April 19, 1990. Funeral service will be held on Friday December 12 at 2:00 p.m. at the Eriksdale Recreational Centre with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in the Eriksdale Cemetery. Pallbearer will be his brother Ernie. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Kauppila, Tom Klement, Raymond Duncan, Freddy McDougall, John Nosal, John Sigurdson, and Bill Bray. Wishes of kindness will go out to special friends, Linda, Larry, Freddy, and Marg. Special thanks to Dr. Steyn and nurses and staff at the Eriksdale Hospital.
