IONA (IVEY) DOWLER It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our precious and beloved Mother and Grandmother, Iona Dowler, into the presence of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on December 4, 2003 in Victoria, BC. Iona was born September 5, 1909 in Carman, MB, the eldest child and only daughter of Miriam and Roy Ivey, she had two brothers Reg and Wilfred both of whom have predeceased her. She is also predeceased by Ivan, her loving husband of 51 years in 1982; her infant granddaughter Gloria Judith Dowler in 1967; her grandson Todd Dowler in 1983 and her son-in-law Jack Klassen in 1991. She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by all of her family: sons - Graham of North Battleford, SK, John (Gayle) of Oak Bank, MB & Dan (Diane) of Winnipeg; daughter Judy Klassen of Victoria, BC. She was a very special Nana to Dowler grandchildren and their families - John (Dolores) and son Chris, Victoria, Brad (Bess) and sons, Caleb and Carl, Anola, MB, Cam (Cathy) and children, Matthew and Sarah, Calgary, AB, Tim (Tami) and children, Cheyenne and Lane, Winnipeg, Debbie, Winnipeg, Darcy and daughter Gracie, Winnipeg. Klassen grandsons, Greg (Siobhaun) and daughter Adelaide, Ottawa, ON, Danny, Richmond, BC. She will also be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Mother loved being a wife, mother and homemaker, and as a result she excelled at it. Her grandchildren were her delight and each had their special spot in her heart. And, of course, she was the favourite of each of our familys dogs. She gave of herself willingly, loved others unconditionally, and enjoyed life to the fullest. She was an excellent role model for her family and she enriched the lives of all who knew her. We have all been greatly blessed to have had her with us these 94 years and reluctantly but joyfully release her to join her loved ones who have gone ahead into eternity. A memorial service will be held at Oak Bank Christian Church, Oak Bank, MB, January 24, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
